Somcan strives to offer as many integration options to our customers as possible including standard templates and processes and the ability to create custom solutions to match your requirements.

To enable or setup any of these services please contact your account manager.

You must have a current Somcan account to use these resources. You may view your orders, invoices and shipments at any time via our Customer Portal once you have logged in.

APIs

Somcan API

We offer a JSON API allowing you to create and view orders, shipments, invoices and access a full product feed.

Please contact your account manager to request an API key and access to a testing environment.

Integration With Your API

If you have an API we would be more than happy to integrate orders, shipments, invoices, products and inventory feeds. You must provide:

• Secure endpoints, we will not integrate with http only endpoints.
• Adequate documentation
• Test and production keys

Product Feeds

Standard Somcan Feed

We provide a URL for Somcan customers to download a standardized product feed.

The standard feed is created each night at 8pm EST, if you access the link before that time you will be given the previous days export.

Please ask your Account Manager for a key.

Custom Feeds

We offer the ability to provide our full catalogue customized to your templates in the following formats and delivery methods:

• Delivery: SFTP (provided by you), API endpoint
• Formats: API, CSV, Pipe, Tab, JSON, XML
• Types: 1 x per day Product feed and 4 x per day Inventory feed.

Orders, Shipments and Invoices

Orders

Somcan can process your custom order file format as long as it meets the below requirements. You may also use our standard CSV template for immediate integration.

Automated order integrations, even when emailed, allow us to process your orders faster and more reliably.

• Delivery: SFTP (Provided by you), Email
• Supported Formats: CSV, Tab or Pipe delimited, XML, JSON
• Standard Template: Somcan_Order_Template.csv

Shipments

We can provide automated shipments alerts via email or an uploaded file to an SFTP that your provide.

The file format must be in a flat file (CSV, Tab, Pipe) or JSON. If required we can provide you with a standard template you can use.

If you wish to start receiving emailed shipment notifications please contact your Account Manager and provide them with the desired email.

All shipment notices and files are processed after 8pm EST

Invoices

Somcan automatically emails all customers their invoices via standardized PDF format each morning to a designated billing email.

We can also provide you invoices in JSON, flat file (CSV, Tab, Pipe delimited) or XML format via Email or to an SFTP server you provide.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

Somcan supports all Order, Order Acknowledgement, Inventory, Shipment and Invoice documents for EDI.

We can trade via SFTP (Provided by you), VAN or AS2. Please contact your account manager for more information.

Branded Catalogue

You can present our products and brands to your customers with your logo and colours via a generic, non-specific domain with a customer specific sub-domain.

We provide this service free of charge to all customers.

Please contact your account manager with your basic colours and logo (webp, jpg, png) and they will configure the site for you.
